Lady Govs basketball fall in first game of the double-header

The Lady Govs were in action in the first game of the double-header against the Tennessee State Lady Tigers.

The Lady Govs were keeping the Lady Tigers on their heels early in the first half, due in fact to the rebounding by Alexis Hardaway and Nicole Olszewski and scoring from Tiasha Gray.

The Lady Govs kept it close until late  the half when the Lady Tigers began to overpower the Lady Govs in the painted area on both sides of the ball. The Lady Tigers managed to go into halftime with a commanding 40-22 lead.

In the second half the Lady Govs came out with intensity that the Lady Tigers could not match. The Lady Govs managed to cut the Lay Tiger lead to 10, but the Lady Tigers had enough momentum from the 1st half to pull away from the Lady Govs again and manage to keep a comfortable lead.

The Lady Tigers continued to pour on the points despite the aggressive Lady Govs, who kept trying to claw their way back into the contest. The Lady Govs could not overcome the deficit and they fell to the Lady Tigers 52-71, giving the Lady Govs their 10th OVC loss of the season.
