After an early release date to last season’s schedule, fans of Austin Peay basketball have been patiently waiting for this year’s slate of games. On Wednesday, the wait came to an end as the Sports Information department released a tentative 2014-2015 schedule with many time slots still to be determined.

What is official are two home exhibition games before opening the regular season at Western Kentucky on Nov. 14. The Govs will hold its first home contest the next day, Nov. 15, as Berea College comes to town. Following an away game at Samford, APSU will take a road trip, visiting both Illinois and Indiana State, before traveling to Las Vegas to press their luck against Brown and either Stephen F. Austin — a 2014 NCAA Tournament member —  or Prairie View A&M.

Before Ohio Valley Conference play begins on Jan. 8, the Govs will have four home match-ups — Lipscomb, Troy, Oakland City, and North Florida — while going on the road at Southern Illnois, Lipscomb, and SEC contender, Ole Miss, on Jan. 3.

Four of APSU’s six opening conference games will be away, but in the middle are five consecutive home contests, including the first of two meetings against rival Murray State on Feb. 7.

However, the Govs will end the campaign with three road games before closing out the regular season vs. SIU Edwardsville on Feb. 26.

APSU is coming off a season with a record of 12-18, 6-10 OVC, falling just one win short of reaching the conference tournament. If things change in 2015, the first round of the OVC Tournament will await on March 4 from Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium.
