On Monday, a full schedule for Lady Govs Basketball was released, featuring 13 home games throughout the 2014-15 season.

The biggest change this season is a new scheduling format, moving away from the Saturday-Monday conference schedule that was implemented two seasons ago. This year, APSU will play on Thursdays and Saturdays once OVC play begins on Jan. 3, taking advantage of the option to play on Thursday instead of the normal Wednesday slot.

Exhibition play will begin on Nov. 1, with two contests leading up the regular season opener on Nov. 14 at the Dunn Center against Wright State. After road trips to Evansville and Chattanooga, including a home game against Grand Canyon, the Lady Govs will take the first of two extended road trips.

APSU will take part in the Southern Miss Thanksgiving Invitational, playing Southern Miss on Nov. 28 and the winner of North Carolina A&T-Oral Roberts the following day. They’ll also swing by Memphis to play the Tigers to begin December, then return to Clarksville for a three-game homestand.

Three road games will test the Lady Govs prior to conference play, traveling to Montana for the Lady Griz Holiday Classic, then a game at Central Arkansas on Dec. 30.

From there, the road to the OVC Championship begins, starting at Eastern Kentucky, Jacksonville State, and Tennessee Tech in three consecutive weeks. Fans will have eight chances to watch the Lady Govs at home as they play for a postseason spot, including the defending champions UT Martin coming to town on Feb. 5. Senior night will take place on Feb. 19 against SIU Edwardsville, with Kristen Stainback being the lone senior on this year’s roster.

APSU will look to improve off a tough season, going 6-10 against conference opponents to miss the tournament. If a turnaround is made, Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium will await the Lady Govs beginning on March 3-4 for the quarterfinals.
