CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Tennessee man has been charged with three counts of kidnapping and first-degree murder in the death of a man whose remains were found near Clarksville.
The Leaf-Chronicle reported (http://leafne.ws/GRhQA8 ) that 38-year-old Coray Eugene Knight also faces charges of abuse of a corpse and tampering with evidence in the death of 53-year-old Jimmy Dean Boyer of Oak Grove. A grand jury indicted Knight last week.
Boyer’s remains were found in May on a gravel road in north Clarksville. His body had been set on fire.
Police say Boyer’s girlfriend, 45-year-old Kelley Hufford, a Fort Campbell elementary school teacher, told Boyer she wanted “Jimmy gone.”
Hufford is free on $150,000 bond. Knight remains in the Montgomery County Jail without bond.
Knight will be arraigned in early November in circuit court.
