The APSU Lady Govs volleyball team has two strong returning players coming back for the Fall 2016 season.

Players to watch this season are Sammie Ebright, who is starting her redshirt senior season, and Ashley Slay, a junior.

Last season, Ebright appeared in all 32 matches and accumulated 123 kills and 315, with a career-high of 16 kills in a match against UT Martin. Ebright also set another career best of 23 digs during a four set match against Southeast Missouri.

It is safe to say that if Ebright continues to improve she will have a bright 2016 season.

The other APSU Lady Gov standout is Ashley Slay, who participated in 30 matches throughout the 2015 season. Slay was No. 2 on the team with an imposing 245 kills, and she also led the team with 72 blocks.

Along with Ebright, Slay posted new career bests in the 2015 season with 19 kills against SEMO.

Slay continued to improve with 18 kills and eight block performances against Evansville.

Slay was awarded Adidas Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the week after an eye catching four match streak.

Slay completed four matches that week, and came away with 48 kills and 12 blocks.
