The SGA is hosting a variety of events throughout October. The Pumpkin Decorating Competition is open for applications for students and student organizations until Oct. 22 at 4:30 p.m.

Pumpkins will be given to those who apply, but there are limited spots.

Pumpkins will be due back to the SGA by October 28th. The SGA will then be judging these pumpkins and designating awards to student organizations.

The SGA is also hosting the Peace of Mind Conference in a Mental Health Town Hall on October 28. The conference will be at 6:00 P.M. on Zoom.

Students can expect to hear from panelists who specialize in mental health. Specialists will provide tips about how to navigate through stressful times even during a pandemic.

Along with events, Senator Brooklynn White is organizing a letter-writing campaign. The campaign will allow the campus to voice their concerns to Tennessee Governor Bill Lee.

More information will follow as logistics are finalized with Senator White’s campaign.

The SGA is also hosting their first in-person meeting on October 21st in the Clement Auditorium rather than on Zoom. The meeting will be in-person due to a dinner that is to take place with President Whiteside directly after.

If students want to learn more about the Pumpkin Decorating Competition, the Peace of Mind Conference, or Senator White’s letter-writing campaign, they can check out the SGA’s social media pages or reach out directly to officers or senators of the SGA.
