On October 21st, 2020, the SGA held their first in-person meeting of the semester.

SGA senators and officers met with President Whiteside directly after the meeting to host a traditional dinner and discussion with the APSU president.

The deadline to apply to the SGA Pumpkin Decorating Competition passed on October 22nd.

However, students and student organizations who applied can find their pumpkins in the SGA office. Pumpkins will be accepted until October 28th.
The SGA will judge the pumpkins and award students or student organizations who excel in their pumpkin-decorating skills.

The SGA will be meeting again this week and host a virtual conference after their general meeting.

SGA’s Peace of Mind Conference is also being conducted on October 28th. The Mental Health Town Hall will be on Zoom at 6:00 P.M. Campus specialists will be present to provide advice for students on dealing with the stress of college.

The deadline for SGA legislation is on November 1st. More legislation will be introduced to the campus as senators submit and vote on proposals.
With upcoming legislation, the SGA is also asking the campus to partake in COVID-19 self-reporting measures.

Students can report their own health symptoms on APSU’s website or the PeayMobile application. The call of action for COVID-19 self-reporting is a part of a future social media campaign that the SGA is working on.

More information about the Pumpkin Decorating Contest, the Mental Health Town Hall, SGA legislation, and COVID-19 self-reporting the campus can be found on SGA’s APSU webpage and social media webpages.
