Clarksville Police have issued an arrest warrant for Carl Allen Whiteside Jr. as a suspect in the alleged overnight shooting that occurred Sunday, April 7 around 3:22 a.m. on Lincoln Drive. The shooting resulted in the death of Patrice Smith, 32, according to a Clarksville Police Department news release.

Police are looking for Carl Allen Whiteside Jr, who has a criminal homicide warrant on file for the overnight shooting fatality on Lincoln Drive. Carl Allen Whiteside Jr. is described as a black male, approximately 6’2” and 260 lbs and was born in 1979. He was last seen wearing a red shirt and dark pants.

Smith was found between the 26 and 27 building of Lincoln Drive and was transported to Gateway Hospital where she was pronounced dead after 4 a.m.

According to the news release, detectives developed Whiteside as a suspect due to information which linked Whiteside to Smith and also putting him in the area when the shooting occurred.

Whiteside is described as a black male, 6 feet 2 inches tall, 260 pounds and was last seen wearing a red shirt and dark pants. The news release said he should be considered armed and dangerous.
