CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — A Sept. 16 trial date has been set for two men charged with robbing and killing a Fort Campbell soldier who gave them a ride.

The Leaf-Chronicle reports (http://leafne.ws/1cnOJid ) that a jury in Clarksville will decide the fates of 19-year-old Giovanne Treymane Johnson and 18-year-old Rakeem Rashan Jones. The two are charged with first-degree murder, felony murder and aggravated robbery in connection with the shooting death of 22-year-old Spc. Taylor Hotzoglou.

Hotzoglou was shot multiple times on April 28, 2012. Hotzoglou was found by a passerby dead in his car on the shoulder of Victory.

Witnesses at a preliminary hearing said Jones and Johnson robbed Hotzoglou during the ride. Jones was named as the alleged gunman.
