CLARKSVILLE (AP) — A Fort Campbell soldier has been charged with sexual battery after police say he acted sexually aggressive toward a woman.

The Leaf-Chronicle reported (http://leafne.ws/1n3URnt ) that 20-year-old Stephen Michael Griffin, surrendered to Clarksville police at the post just after 11 p.m. Saturday, July 19.

Police say Griffin tried to kiss a woman, then reached into her shirt and grabbed her Saturday night.

Officers say the woman told officers that when she told him to stop, Griffin asked her to perform a sex act with him.

Officers spoke with the victim’s husband, who says he did not see anything but Griffin told him what happened.

Griffin had bonded out by Monday morning. Jail records did not list an attorney for him.
