Applications for the Editor-in-Chief position and senior editor positions are accepted each spring. Applicants for Editor in Chief should have experience with news reporting, leadership, design and other relative skills. Each applicant is required to formally indicate their intent to seek the EIC position for the newspaper or yearbook by filling out an online application at the link below, submit a resume and relevant work samples, and provide at least three references to be considered for interview. Editors in Chief are interviewed by a panel selected by the Coordinator of Student Affairs Publications comprised of faculty, staff, and/or student staff members.
Applications for all other positions are accepted all year, although it is best to apply as soon as possible to provide adequate time for introduction to the staff and appropriate training. Applicants should be prepared for a formal, professional-style interview with a member of the Editorial Board. This includes, but is not limited to a resume, samples of previous work and a list of references.
Staff members are compensated for their work in scholarships at the end of each semester. Scholarship amounts vary based on the position and other factors. Editor and senior positions typically require previous experience.
