APSU Parking prepares for potential flash flood

The National Weather Service has called for 6-8 inches of rain in the Clarksville area due to the after effects of Hurricane Harvey and APSU has already braced for the impact.

They have issued a Flash Flood Warning for the following counties:

Robertson County, TN
Cheatham County, TN
Dickson County, TN
Montgomery County, TN
Houston County, TN
Stewart County, TN

The rain will come in tonight and continue into the morning as amounts increase overnight. The warning will remain in effect from 7 a.m. on Thursday until 7 p.m. Friday.

In an email sent out this afternoon, APSU Parking Office has closed Lot 27 located between College St. and Main St.

“This area is prone to flooding, so this closure is necessary to avoid the risk of vehicles being damaged by flooding,” the email said. “We recommend parking in Lot 30, which is across Main Street from Lot 27.”
