Dave Loos is currently in his 20th season as head coach of the APSU Govs basketball team and is the Ohio Valley Conference’s longest active serving athletics director. During his tenure he has accumulated several honors including five time OVC Coach of the Year and APSU Hall of Fame induction.
With over 400 career-coaching wins, he has won the most games in APSU history and is also the winningest coach in the OVC.
On Saturday, Feb. 20, Dave Loos Appreciation Night, in the Dunn Center after the Lady Govs basketball game, it was announced that friends and supporters of Loos had established a scholarship in his name.
According to APSU Sports Information, over $60, 000 has been raised towards the endowment. The scholarship will be offered to graduate assistants interested in coaching basketball professionally.
It was also announced that Mayor Johnny Piper, the city council and citizens of Clarksville proclaimed Saturday, Feb. 20, Dave Loos Day.
